THE WAY THINGS USED TO BE

I don't like change. I guess it's part of who I am. I naturally have an aversion to doing things and having things different than before. Actually I tend to think of it as a human thing, as we all kinda feel this way (at least I hope so).

Anyways, our church is about to go through a transition, which will no doubt affect our entire family. I remember leaving several churches throughout my growing-up days; my dad pastored a number of churches and I can recall the last day we spent at each of them.

We are also looking for ways to revamp many things in our student ministry - change some stuff up and to make the ministry more effective. One of which can be seen HERE. But nonetheless change, even changes we want to make (like the new stuff for the youth ministry) doesn't come easy.

Please pray for the Western Heights Baptist Church in Waco, TX next time you talk to God. We'd really appreciate it.

Bring my green little friends to church today. You know what I'm talkin' about. That's right.

Out of curiosity, what are the changes? Maybe I'm dense, or maybe you really didn't mention them. I know how change is, and while I've often welcomed it, I also know how hard it can be.

Godspeed.

Our Minister of Education/Admin. is leaving. He resigned on Sunday, seemingly without warning. Our church has had "issues" for sometime now. It's my understanding that this is yet another result of those "issues." He runs the day-in/day-out operations of the church. He also does the Sunday School stuff, and a host of other jobs that are a considerable amount of work, especially for one person. Finding someone who can take what God has waiting is going to take some prayer.

Thanks, Chris.
